The John Mather Trust
John Mather was a West of Scotland apprentice who became a lover of the Arts; a business visionary and a lifelong employee of what became Clydeport; an organisation in which he historically played a hugely significant role.
Before his untimely death in 2001, he had already set up a fund to assist young people in the West of Scotland obtain a foot on the career ladder; from craft apprentices at a range of Colleges to those with the ambition and talent to become technicians. engineers, business people, scientists, musicians and artists,
His legacy was to leave most of his estate to further those aims and in its first fifteen years, the John Mather Trust has already helped more than 3,000 young people in the West of Scotland.
Awards are made through a range of institutions.
